A Question to ponder...

This question came to me at a conference that took place here in the city. I'm not too sure about anyone else but for me, attention and wanting to be noticed can become huge boulders in my walk. Up until recently, wanting to be prayed over or prophecied over were my main focuses at services where "ministry time" came about.
The saturday night of that conference completely rearranged and transformed my mindset. While kneeling at the altar, waiting for some preacher to pray over me, I heard God ask a question that stunned me...
"if I was the only one in this room right now, would you be satisfied in me, in my love, and in the fact that I take delight in you?"

Without thinking, I said, of course I would be, what kind of question is that?! (in the meantime, still peering around looking for the preacher and wondering why he wasn't over here yet)

The question came again, a bit more audibly in my spirit. And again I said, of course I would be God, don't be silly!

One more time the question came, and it finally hit me. I've been trying all along to find approval and delight in man made opinions! If I was truly satisfied with the fact that the Almighty creator of the universe takes delight in me (that fascinates me everytime i think about it) I wouldn't be wondering where that preacher was.

And I find that a lot of people look for their approvals in humans. People (myself included) try to find people that we think have status in the world (or at least in our world) and try to get them to notice us. We try to get recognition from influential people around us. Deep down, there's some inner pride that wants to take all the glory for ourselves, we want OUR name in lights, we want OUR name to linger on the lips of those who hear us and we fail to realize that all the glory and all the fame go to God and only Him.

So my question for you would be the same question God asked me "if He was the only one in the room, would you be satisfied with just Him?"

That's sort of where the name of my blog stemmed from. That one question of "If I was the only one in the room, would you be satisfied?" So I live my life before an audience of one. Everything I do, I aim to do in a way that pleases Him. My life is a movie and it's being played out in front of my maker.

Psalm 139:17-18 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be mor in number than the sand.
Isaiah 62:4 ......For the Lord delights in you......
